Wuthering Heights Quilt for Sister B

I have two sisters. Sister L and Sister B. I am making a quilt for B. She lives in Scotland, and I am sure she could use the snuggly warmth of a quilt handmade by me.

Here is most of the quilt lined up on the planning wall. The blocks are sewn in their rows as are the triangle borders, but nothing is sewn to each other just stuck to the wall for the overall appearance.

The fabrics are so pretty. They are Wuthering Heights by 3 Sisters from Moda. This is an absolutely fabulous quilt kit and I am very excited about it.

The center piece is a giant applique. This is the part that will take some time... and extreme patience...

  1. A couple interesting links for the quilt kit and more pictures.

Here is one that shows the paper from the quilt with a picture of the whole quilt. (Note that different kits can contain similar but varying fabrics). http://quiltedmemories.files.wordpress.com/2008/05/wuthering-heights1.jpg

Here is a blog post, about another sister who made this quilt with a sister for a third sister. :) http://gingersnapquilts.blogspot.com/2008/12/donnas-quilt.html

And then here are some really great pictures. Very good to show you what the center applique idea is. These are obviously pictures from a professional long arm quilter. http://home-and-garden.webshots.com/photo/2411643570054119077WhuOJZ

  2. That's absolutely gorgeous! I wish someone would make something like that for me. I'm sure your sister will love snuggling up with the quilt when it's finished!

  3. Thanks Ruth. If I ever have money to burn. I'll think of you. :) Quilting is an expensive hobby, but so worth it in the end.
