  1. After just reading The Heretic's Daughter which also involved the Salem Witch Trials, I would love to read about Mercy's story and see how it affects the contemporary characters in The Shape of Mercy.

  7. Firat of all I love everything by Susan Meissener. :) But this book looks especially good. Susan mentioned on her blog that's it's a book straight form her heart, and that alone makes it a book I'm excited to read. Those are always the best kind!

  11. The first time I heard/read about the Salem Witch Trials I was about 12 or 13 and was horrified! Honestly, I wonder if I handle reading about it now!

Anyway, strange as it may seem, I haven't read any of Susan M's books. Have heard about them a lot and what's very interesting is that she lives about three miles from me! (Mt. Lake, Minnesota). It's a small world! I've never met her before but have talked to her on the phone several time...before she became a published author I wanted to hire her as a music teacher for my students but she told me that her "slate is full"...small world indeed!

I clicked on your site from A Peek at my Bookshelf. I love your book reviews and your blog is very "cozy." I commented on this before but that book review you gave on "The Lady of the Milkweed Manor" was FABULOUS! It really is one of the best books I ever read!

    Keep up the good work!!

Oh, I'd like to be entered into the contest for this book...

  24. I've been seeing this book around the blogging world and am just dying to read it! First I think the Salem witch trials are so interesting. Also I recently read In The Shadow of Lions, which was about an editor writing down the story a Scribe shows her and I loved that aspect of it...so when I saw that The Shape of Mercy was about transcribing a diary I got really excited. And I heard that Susan is a great storyteller.

Like I said...I'm dying to read this book!!

    Thanks!

  27. I read an interview with Susan on another blog and was fascinated by this book. I've toured Salem and was frankly glad to leave that town. Susan's treatment of this time in our history will provide very interesting reading. Thank you for this giveaway.
