Awesome Day!

Today was one of the best days that I have had in a while and I am ecstatic from all the wonderful and awesome things that occurred today!!

It started early, at 7:00 AM I woke up. This is fabulous! I slept through the night!!! This is the first time I have slept through the night in over 11 weeks! I have woken up at three or five AM at least always with an insane pressure on my bladder that says my uterus is taking over all available space. So even though I do not need to get up until nine or so, I'm very happy with seven rather than five or anything else so ghastly!

Next, I went to the Covington square to meet my DH for lunch. I was very early and was able to walk around a bit and boy did I make friends! I went to the music shop
and while I was there I found a piano that I am desperately in love with. Any extra money sitting around that you would like to share?? *grin* After that encouraging experience, I was able to continue on down to way to a children's boutique. It is new and used stuff, and I found a Classic Winnie the Pooh crib set for $12!!!! There was also a Georgia Tech diaper bag. *grin*

Lunch was at the "A Little Country" which is the old pharmacy and I had a turkey sandwich that was classic and very yummy. The shop also doubles as a Heat of the Night/ Dukes of Hazzard museum. (Awesome)

After lunch, I jumped in the car and got prepared to drive. I rocked out to my iPod and drove all the way to the Lifeway Bookstore at the Mall of Georgia to see Nora and Rachel Hauck. I got there early, so I went in the mall and purchased a much needed maternity piece of clothing and fought with the Belk reciepts (long story, but smiling all the while). Then I crossed over to the bookstore.

I got to see my pal Nora, and get my signed copy of Ginger Garrett's In the Shadow of Lions that she was holding for me. And I got to get Rachel to sign my copies of Sweet Caroline and Love Starts with Elle. When I walked in, I saw Rachel sitting and the table talking to Ane Mulligan. I walked up and introduced myself, and they actually knew who I was!!!

HOW COOL IS THAT!?! Sorry, a little excited here! So I spent the next couple hours there talking to Ane and Rachel about various authors, who I enjoy, and who I think is to die for and so on. Then as things were quieting down and we were all getting ready to leave, I was talking about my hour drive home in rush hour traffic and they invited me to dinner. Me! I got to eat dinner with authors! Real life authors in the flesh! and me!!

So after fabulous dinner and conversation, I jumped on the road, glad to have ate through rush hour and came home.

Oh, and about books for the day... well I am still reading Scrapping Plans, I was a little too preoccupied to finish it. At the store, on bargain buys, I got The Mark of Salvation by Carol Umberger and The Battle for Vast Dominion by George Bryan Polivka. Then after getting home, the mail brought me treats! The Book Bargains Catalog from CBD.com, Finding God in the Shack by Randal Rauser (ARC) and A Vote of Confidence by Robin Lee Hatcher (ARC).

Needless to say after all that! Today was an absolutely awesome day!

Wow, you really did have a great day! I'm so glad that you were able to get a good night's sleep. Savor that while you can -- my cousin's baby (who turned 1 year old yesterday) just started sleeping through the night.

Margaret it was GREAT to see you again. I'm excited about the news of the little one growing in you. Also excited I was able to see your baby picture here!! It was a delight as always to talk to you and share in your excitement. You are in my thoughts and prayers at this little one grows and you get to meet him/her face to face in August. :D

I was thrilled to give you your signed book. We both don't trust the mail with treasures like that. :D

I'll be posting pictures of Rachel's visit to my book clubs on Friday. You'll have to check it out.

Blessings on your journey friend.

Nora :D

Oh, Ruth, for the good and bad, I'm so ready!

Nora - that widget is not an actual picture of my baby. That's on my phone that I forgot to show you... The widget image changes to show approximately what my baby will look like at said given time through out the pregnancy. I have a picture from last Friday, and get my next one on Feb 18th and then 20th.

Hi, Margaret, I love the pregnancy ticker. I just had my first grandchild. I wished I'd have done a countdown. Fun.

Thanks for the kind words about Gingham Mountain

Way to go, MJ. I knew there was a downside to living in Australia ;-) So delighted that you had such a wonderful day.

Love Carol Umberger's series - they have been on my keeper shelf for years!
