Talk about a Birthday!

As you may well know, Tuesday was my birthday, 24th to be exact. According to my mother back in 1984 she went into labor on a Sunday and I was born Monday morning around 7:34 or so. I trust her, I think she was there and would know. *grin*

So the big present, other than money from the 'rent (parents), DH bought me (us) a camera!

It is the neatest thing. It makes him happy, because there are a lot of various specs and modes and it does technical things. *grin* He understands them and loves them, and it's simple for me to use in AUTO mode. *wink* I've already run around and taken various pictures of the house, my Quilting Den, cats, and nieces. Now, I just need to take a good nature walk with it... make a few quilt blocks and now I'll have proof that I really am a quilter!

The camera is completely awesome and I am definitely in love with it. But! That is not the neatest most nifty thing I got in blog world, no... that would be my gift from Lindsey of A Kindred Spirit's Thoughts.

A Kindred Spirit's Thoughts

I get back on the computer this morning, after having a relaxing day and habachi sushi dinner with my DH last night and what do I find while combing through my google reader feeds, but that I have been selected for a blog award! This is my first! And what a great birthday gift!! So excited!!! (Can you tell?) Lindsey has presented me with the I Love Your Blog award, I have wanted one of these since I first saw it, and was curious if ever one day it might happen to me, and on my birthday of all days! How cool!!!

Part of accepting the award is:

*displaying the award
*linking back to the person who gave it to you
*paying it forward & nominating 7 blogs
*adding links to those seven blogs
*leaving comments on their blog telling them you gave them an award
*enjoying the award
(and I put mine in my side bar to rant and rave about it *grin*)

So here's who I'm passing it forward to:

1. Deena at A Peek at My Bookshelf
2. Melissa at Bibliophile's Retreat
3. Ruth at Bookish Ruth
4. Ana, Kailana, Marg, and Teddy at Historical Tapestry
5. Nancy Rue at 'Tween You and Me
6. Susan Meissner at The Shape of Mercy blog (a continuation of letters between from the characters of her fabulous book)
7. Rel at RelzReviewz

These are just a few of the blogs that keep my google reader full and my eyes open late hours into the night reading more of them and yearning for more books and such. *grin*

Now, without further adieu, it is beyond my bedtime, and DH needs me! Goodnight!

Well happy belated birthday! :-) That camera is SWEET!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm jealous, hehe. Isn't it fun to take pictures? I really love it, and my husband loves that I can take pictures of the baby to my heart's content and that way he isn't the focus of the camera lens so much. What he doesn't know is that I'm just biding my time and giving him a false sense of security. :-) Anyway. I'm trying to learn all that "technical stuff" - lol. I wish I understood more about my camera!

Oh, and THANK YOU for posting the link to the The Shape of Mercy blog! I finished it last night and I was so impressed! I can't wait to go check that site out! I think I'll do it now... ta ta!

By the way, I don't know how your mom can remember all those details... my daughter and first baby was born six months ago and I can hardly remember anything except that it felt like it took forever... I don't remember days! But then I think I have a faulty memory...

Anyway. ;-)

I am so excited about the The Shape of Mercy site! It is AWESOME!
