Thanks to the fabulous team at Waterbrook Multnomah, I have bunches of good books to offer you. US only from my mailbox to yours. One of which is... a novel that I absolutely loved! Never the Bride by Rene Gutteridge and Cheryl McKay. Click here to go back and read my review.
Eleven Bridesmaid Dresses Don’t Lie
Since she was just a little girl, Jessie Stone dreamed up hundreds of marriage proposals, doodled the romantic ideas in her journal with her treasured purple pen, and fantasized about wedding dresses and falling in love. She’s been a bridesmaid nearly a dozen times, waved numerous couples off to sunny honeymoons, and shopped in more department stores for half-price fondue pots than she cares to remember.
But shopping for one key component of these countless proposals hasn't been quite as productive–a future husband. The man she thought she would marry cheated on her. The crush she has on her best friend Blake is at very best…well, crushing. And speed dating has only churned out memorable horror stories.
So when God shows up one day, in the flesh, and becomes a walking, talking part of her life, Jessie is skeptical. What will it take to convince her that the Almighty has a better plan than one she’s already cooked up in her journals? Can she turn over her pen and trust someone else to craft a love story beyond her wildest dreams?
Cheryl McKay is the screenwriter for the award-winning film The Ultimate Gift. She also wrote an episode of Gigi: God’s Little Princess, based on the book by Sheila Walsh, and Taylor’s Wall, a drama about high-school violence. She’s been writing since the tender age of five when she penned her first play. Cheryl is originally from Boston, Massachusetts, and currently lives in Los Angeles.
Rene Gutteridge is a critically acclaimed comedy writer and novelist. She is the author of fifteen novels including the Boo series, My Life as a Doormat, the Occupational Hazards series, and the novelization of the motion picture The Ultimate Gift. She lives in Oklahoma with her family.
What would you do if God started appearing to just you to tell you to let Him write 'your' love story? One sentence answers are not going to cut it.
Good luck all! And for the fun of it, after your MANDATORY entry above, any of the following will get you additional entries...

First of all, even though He is The Lord, I would say: "What took You so long?". I have been a maid of honor twice, and a wedding director once. I have never been a bride. A nuturer and homebody by nature, I have yet to be married and have my own family.

Truthfully, I think God has finally written my love story. I don't know how it ends, but I met my soul mate on Match.com and we have been together for 11 years. He has gotten me through 7 surgeries and bacterial spinal meningitis. He has saved my life literally twice and he has done all of this with compassion, patience and love. After my first married I feel that the good Lord has to have been watching over me and guiding me this way. Of course I'm sure if I had my way and he was really watching all of the time, he could have left out the surgery's! ~ : )

I've been wanting to read this book and have yet to get it. My love story wouldn't really be a happy ending love story at this point in my life. I am a divorced, single mother, but God is taking care of us!
Blessings

I think God has already written my love story...I just wonder when he will let me read the end of it. The end being marriage. A lot has happened in the 2 years since our engagement....it makes me wonder if God see's a marriage in the works. There have been a lot of barricades that have prevented marriage, is it God's way of saying that marriage is not part of my love story? Or is it just part of the story and we just haven't reached the end yet? Who knows...only time will tell. Thanks for the chance! bekki1820cb@gmail.com

I would like to think that I would turn it over to him totally --- but I know that is easier said than done. I'd probably try to convince him that I know what I need (not true), but letting go and letting God is not always easy.

I would hope to have enough sense to let Him do it. Just throw up my hands and say ok have at it God. I can't wait to see what you are going to do. However, since I'm married I may have some red flags flying if He did.

I can't answer that, I have the love of my life and have been thanking God everyday for him. If God chose to change that I have to trust him that he knows what is best for me. I would still be thankful for what time he did give me with him.
